Dreams and Commitments

Dreams and Commitments

It is difficult to achieve one's dreams.

That's why 99 percent of people don't go after them, and the 1% that do are regarded as exceptional.

That isn't to say they can't be accomplished.

As you may have seen, I purposefully contradicted myself in the first three phrases to build into the next question.

Do you agree or disagree with what I've said thus far?

Your response will influence how you feel about following your ambitions. That's OK, since your views aren't set in stone. By the conclusion of this post, I hope I've persuaded you of five methods to commit completely to your goals and never give up.

Here's the thing: your dreams are your lifeblood; therefore, you must be intentional about them. Most individuals give up on their aspirations much too soon since chasing a desire is like swimming in the open sea. When a person is halfway through a swim, they are most likely to give up since they can't see the finish line and doubts arise. However, if they consider how far they've come, giving up would be a disservice.

If you can't see the end, it doesn't imply you should abandon your ambitions. As you get closer, have trust that you will be shown the route. We are blinded from following our aspirations due to a lack of trust and fear. We are forced to put our aspirations on hold because we want to meet our wants today rather than wait for a better future.

The pursuit of a goal is inextricably linked to the solution to life's most pressing question. That question originates from the depths of your spirit, and it is your task to bring it to life. You would have denied yourself the chance to experience your highest self if you departed this planet without having dedicated yourself to seeking the solution.

I recognise that life is demanding, and we are tugged in many ways, forcing us to make decisions right now. Some of these options are persuasive and need immediate action, such as providing for your family and a place to live. That isn't to say you should put your aspirations on hold merely to make ends meet.

There will come a moment when you will look back on your decisions and regret them. "Hindsight is lovely, but foresight is better, particularly when it comes to sparing life or some misery!" said English poet William Blake.

CAT will no longer be a source of anxiety for you.

One may simply bell the CAT bell with hard effort, dreams and dedication.

To begin, consider the following facts:

  • More than half of the (roughly) 1,50,000 hopefuls who take the CAT are not serious about it. They take the test for no particular reason, either because their friends are taking it or because they don't want to squander the money they paid for the application form.
  • We are now down to just 75,000 individuals.
  • Only around half of the 75,000 "serious" folks have done any preparation.
  • So there are only 35,000 individuals who have truly studied for the test and are serious about passing it.

Isn't that a lot more manageable?

How are we going to get past these 35,000 people now?

Plenty has already been published on different arithmetic shortcuts, reading speed methods, etc. That was completely done by myself. I also tried something else that was effective for me. Allow me to reveal those secrets to you.

Focus: It's all up in the air!

When it comes to bell the CAT, the mind is really important.

CAT must be eaten, slept, and breathed. There are no shortcuts in this situation.

Complete attention is necessary, regardless of what we are doing at the time. For example, I would unconsciously keep thinking about CAT even while I was watching television.

I'd attempt to imagine myself taking the test, receiving calls, going to the GD/PI, and so on.

Take care of the weak places.

Are you concerned about your computer's speed?

When I was travelling, I would look at car registration numbers and do rapid computations. If I observed the number 5988 on a car, I would calculate the values for 598/9, 59/88, and 5/988. This really increased my speed!

Are you concerned about your reading speed?

It is a given that you read newspapers. Make it a point, though, to read a lot of publications.

Guest essays are common in most decent publications. These are around one page long. I used to read them, time myself, and attempt to understand what I was reading.

You might always ask a friend, mother, or sister to quiz you on the column to see whether you understand it.

After all, CAT is about understanding what you read, not about reading!

Groups that provide assistance

Meet together with your CAT-writing buddies on a regular basis. Ideas are exchanged, exam papers are written, and so forth. What are the chances? Someone's suggestion may be quite beneficial!

Above all, plan ahead, think big, and put in the effort.

You don't have to be stiff, however.

I used to make weekly time goals for myself, for example. If I didn't meet my goal on a certain day, I would make it up the next day. The main point was to make sure I reached my weekly goal.

When you're exhausted and drowsy, attempting to work through the night is pointless. It would be preferable if you finished what you needed the following day.

How to Make a Commitment to a Commitment

Here are three suggestions to help you develop that dedication and devote yourself to attaining your goal.

  • Break your objective down into smaller chunks. We typically expect to see results right immediately in our instant gratification society, but transformation takes time. To stay focused on your goals, appreciate your progress rather than the end result.
  • Small impediments should be removed. "Surprisingly, it's usually the little, fixable things that get in our way,". Is your gym too far away to visit on a daily basis? Sign up at a location that is closer to you. Is it customary for your employer to bring doughnuts to work? The break room should be avoided. Fix the problem instead of creating excuses.
  • Maintain your concentration. If you want to have a long-lasting marriage, don't let your mind wander to your hot new co-worker. The same goes for CAT. If you dream of going to IIM, stick to your dream rather than getting diverted and preparing for other exams. If your aim is to complete project A, don't get caught up in the thrill of projects B and C.

Continue to Daydream

Are your objectives reasonable and attainable? To discover out, ask yourself these questions.

What am I hoping to achieve with this?

Is your objective something you actually want, or is it something you're chasing for another reason? According to recent research, persons who desired to lose weight for personal reasons rather than pressures like pleasing others were more effective at keeping to their objectives. This is true for all objectives. "We're less likely to succeed if we don't personally respect the notion."

What is my overarching goal?

Let's imagine you want to be a famous singer but have a condition in place, such as having 1 million YouTube likes."

That may be a stretch, but the bigger objective of being a successful artist isn't ". Same goes with Cracking CAT as well. "If you're solid in your commitment yet flexible in how you get there, your chances of success skyrocket."

Conclusion

So, what's holding you from enrolling at your desired business school? Is it the unreasonably high cut-offs, the ostensibly unjust admissions system, or just the universe conspiring against you? When you think about it, more than half of CAT participants haven't prepared for the exam.

It's that easy!! The desire, dedication, and motivation to sit for and prepare for the CAT counts.

It all comes down to having the commitment and persistence to pass this test and achieve your goals. It is only feasible if you put in a consistent effort. Don't put things off till Monday. Stop procrastinating, consider the massive competition, and do your part every day. Begin preparing for the CAT right now. When the time comes, everything will fall into place. Best wishes! Until the next time,
